ROYAL CALENDAR APPROVED

Published as an Executive Document of the Kingdom

August 24, 2020:

 

His Majesty King Matthew reviewed and approved a Royal Calendar for use in the Kingdom.  â€‹The calendar, which includes national holidays and observances, may be found here.  Note that national observances are listed in green, national holidays pink, and national days of mourning blue.

MEETING OF ROYAL COURT

Executive Session at Government House

​

By order of His Majesty The King, the Royal Court today convened in executive session.  Here are some of the highlights of the conference.  

​

  • ​Minister of Sports Sir Andrew Vincent reported that "good progress is being made" on efforts to set up national teams.  He also said that the ministry is in contact with the Intermicronational Olympic Committee.  

​

  • A newly minted minister was introduced, Sir David Lawson of the Ministry of Defense.  He briefed the Court on options regarding military development.  

​

  • The Court entered into a closed-door session to discuss classified information.  

​

  • The Court returned from the closed-door session.

​

  • The session was adjourned at approximately 2:30 PM Kingdom Standard Time (1930 UTC).

NATIONAL BASEBALL TEAM ANNOUNCES MEMBERS

Roster is reportedly "loaded with talent"

​

Today, the Ministry of Sports and Gaming revealed the players that have been selected for the Barnum National Baseball Team.  

​

A partial look at the roster:

​

  • Freddie Freeman (Atlanta Braves) and J.T. Realmuto (Philadelphia Phillies) anchor the infield.  

​

  • Several younger players have been selected, among them Pete Alonso (New York Mets) and Keon Wong (Durham Bulls).  These talents should provide plenty of excitement at the plate.  

​

  • Barnum's pitching staff is led by ace hurler Zack Greinke (Arizona Diamondbacks) and closer Brad Hand (Cleveland Indians).  The bullpen staff should pose a formidable challenge for any opponent.  

​

Open workouts and Spring Training for the Barnum squad will be starting soon.  Watch this space for more information.

NEW MINISTRY FOUNDED

As ordered by His Majesty The King, a new government office is setting up shop.  The "Barnum Ministry of Sports and Gaming" has been charged with promoting athletic events within the Kingdom. 

 

Sources report that His Majesty is considering entering the Kingdom in the Micronational Olympic Games.  Therefore, among the new department's first tasks will be setting up national teams in several sports.  A baseball team is reportedly close to formation, as well as clubs in men's basketball and ice hockey. 

 

According to His Majesty's public affairs chief, more information will be released on this matter shortly.
