His Majesty King Matthew the First, born September 29 1981, is the reigning King of Barnum, having assumed the throne upon the March 18 2019 formation of the Kingdom.  The King is Barnum's Head of State, as well as the Chief of the Royal Court.  Along with other Court members, he has the power to make any laws that he believes "to be necessary and proper", in accordance with the Constitution (see Section 10, "Constitution & Declaration of Rights").  As sovereign, the King also commands any and all defense forces of the Kingdom.  

 

The full title of King Matthew is as follows: His Majesty King Matthew the First, by the Grace of God, King of Barnum, Sovereign of Stratford, Defender of Bridgeport, Grand Duke of Lordship, Earl of Black Rock, Knight of Grasmere, Chief of the Royal Court, Commander General of the Armed Forces.
